Hello and welcome to my site…
I’m Emily, a teacher, SENDCo and Librarian. I have been teaching primary school aged children for 15 years. My last class read Forest Adventure together and then read it by themselves to explore different paths. It was good to let them see that I was a writer and that they could review my work.
The ‘An I Adventure’ series are based on school trips as children always remember these well! I enjoyed role play books when I was young and I wanted to showcase a different genre. I love art, and collage is an art form that everyone can complete and enjoy.
Sobek, the first of the ‘An I Mystery’ series, was a result of teaching Egyptians to my first class. What would it be like to be a God and have a crocodile head? What did the Egyptians believe that Sobek could do?
This year I joined the Department for Education’s Standard and Testing Agency’s Review Panel for the English English Reading SATs Papers with Deputy Heads and Headteachers. I’m also qualified as a Chartered Librarian. This included covering as a Children’s Librarian before I undertook my PGCE; it was hugely enjoyable, a chance to read and a privilege to talk to children about their reading.
