A ‘School Trip Role-Play’ book is aimed at Key Stage (KS1). ‘The Ancient Book’ series is aimed at Lower Key Stage 2 (LKS2).
The main text is written in the first person so that the children can believe it is their adventure. This means it is written in the present tense e.g. I can hear whistling.
Books in the ‘School Trip Role-Play’ series include the first 100 keywords and Phase 2-5 tricky common exception words for KS1.
The English Appendices for KS1 spelling and KS1 grammar and punctuation have been followed so that children are reading age appropriate examples e.g. compound words, plurals, suffixes, apostrophes, commas
The books include two digit page numbers. The names of words are introduced too e.g. thirteen. Other areas are brought into each book such as addition, odd/even, fractions, time, 2D and 3D shape.
I have referred to working scientifically, materials, animals, seasons, the senses and some elements of plants.
I have included the 5 oceans of the world, human and physical geography vocabulary and compass directions.
I have included collage as children should be taught about about the work of a range of artists.
Books in the ‘The Ancient Book’ series include the first 200 keywords. I have added the Year 3 & 4 Spelling List words too.
